Hello!

The situation in Lausanne is that there are still people in prison who were arrested almost 2 weeks ago and are being kept on charges that in no way justify their prolonged incarceration. The police has denied the antirepression group access to the lists of people who were arrested/charged and released so we have NO IDEA how many people could still be incarcerated. Also, we have many testimonies of police brutality both during the arrests (a reminder...in Lausanne there were mass arrests...over 400 were arrested in one day!) and during incarceration.

We feel it's important that people, both locally and internationally, don't forget that the repression that was felt here was very strong and that even though cases like Martin's and Guy's are more "media friendly", there are many people that are suffering right now as well from this repression. Also, we feel it's important to remeber that Martin's case was a part of a repressive strategy of the authorities and the police on all people who tried to blocade (using different strategies) the arrival of the G8 flunkies. In no way was it an "accident", or dissociated from the other events of the day. While we understand that Martin's case is particularily moving and important, we must not forget the other people who, though less visible, will be facing serious charges in the wake of the repression used during the summit.

We are working with the people that were victims of police brutality to prepare a collective attack against the police and the authorities. We are also working to help defend the people that were charged with various insidious things such as riot and violence against the authorities. And, very important at this time, we are working to liberate all the people that were imprisoned during the summit and to have access to the list that will permit us to be sure that everyone is liberated.

Solidarity with all the people still imprisoned
Against the division into "good" and "bad" demonstrators
Against the repressive strategies of the Swiss governement and the leaders of the G8
and most importantly, solidarity in the face of all different forms of police repression!!!
