Call For Solidarity Actions Sat.14 june
In the past, and again during the recent G8 summit, there have been significant numbers of cases of violent political repression at the hands of the Swiss Police.
We call for an international effort to put pressure on the Swiss Government to demonstrate itself and its employees to be accountable.
This Saturday, the 14th june, we call for all groups to mount actions, pickets or demos at their local Swiss embassy or other strategic targets.
With a message of outrage relating to the repression that took place during the G8 summit, and particuarly about the case of English activist martin shaw.
There will be a demonstration on Saturday in Barcalona, which will demand the following....
The complete withdrawal of all charges against all activists present during the bridge action.
A transparant, independent public inquiry into the training and orders of the police team responsible for cutting the rope that caused the fall and subsecent injuries to martin. This inquiry should be a single and specific part of a full investigation into the general policing and security policy that surrounded this G8 sunnit.
The Swiss government to sign a written statement committing to take full responsibility for the acts of its police. This commitment to culpability should include the pledge to fully compensate all injured parties present during the bridge action, and other individuals who have incurred medical or judicial costs as a result of violent repression by the apparantly immune Swiss police forces.
We regret claims from the Swiss police that the cutting of the rope was an accident, or the result of the negligence of one officer.
At the very least it should be seen as the direct result of the deliberate instalation and manipulation of a climate of fear within society, aimed to marginalise and criminalise the diverse dissident voices that gather to oppose the G8 and their executive partners.
We denounce this growing scale of violent or cultural repression, combined with the criminalisation , globaly and persistantly. of the anti neo liberal social movements.

The people who broke the windows in Geneva WERE the bloody locals! I was there!!!
Who do you think rioted in Genoa? And Prague? And Seattle?
The most violent episodes in the history of the anti-capitalist movement have frequently involved local working people demonstrating their opposition to neo-liberalism by breaking things and fighting with the police.
And who are we to stop them?
