BBC PROMOTES FASCISM TONIGHT

STOP THE BBC SHOWING THIS HATE NOW !
On Monday 9th June at 9pm BBC1 will be showing the second episode of
series 2 of its Bafta award nominated drama Spooks. This episode was
shown last Monday evening on the satellite and cable station BBC 3 at
10.30pm.
MPAC have received a number of complaints about the flagrant
Islamophobia in this programme. The episode details from the BBC web
site are: -
Mosque
An MI5 agent is tortured inside a mosque in Birmingham after finding out
it is being used for training suicide bombers. MI5 then recruits
Algerian spy Ibhn Khaldun (Alexander Siddig) to infiltrate the group and
he learns an attack is imminent.
Put simply the program is Anti-Arab, Anti-Muslim and panders to the
whims of the right wing portrayal of all practising Muslims as
terrorists, willing to kill infidel innocents as a fundamental of their
faith.
The programme shows the following: -
A Muslim child carries out a suicide bombing in a Birmingham school;
Madrassahs teach children to hate the west and train them to become
suicide Bombers;
quotes like "I will go straight to paradise if I kill just one Infidel"
are used, said by a young boy of 16 who had explosives on his person
while standing in a playground in Birmingham;
The first Muslim Spy that infiltrates the Mosque is caught and beaten to
death;
A Westernised Algerian brother, fair skin, light styled beard, offers
his services to spy for MI5;
All the "bad guys" have beards and wear turbans;
The Imam (Mullah) is arrested for Charity fraud when they can find no
other evidence against him;
Asylum seekers are shown as fanatics abusing the system;
Imams are referred to as Mullahs;
There is no good aspect of Islam shown.
The impression is always apparent that all Muslims are terrorists,
except the ones that immerse themselves into the West and its ways. Not
for one second is it felt that the "hero" is a good Muslim, his moral
fibre comes from the west not Islam.
Needless to say there are no Muslim actors in the cast. All this
programme does is demonise and dehumanise Muslims and Islam. It is based
in a real city with a real Muslim community - Birmingham. This is the
first step on a very dangerous path, identify the enemy, demean,
dehumanise and something to fear / kill. Is there any better claim to
incitement to racial hatred?
There is plenty of evidence, both real and anecdotal that following
programmes like these the level of racial tension and attacks increase.
Our hijab-wearing sisters are spat at in front of their children, and we
suffer unprovoked verbal taunts and physical assaults.

Dear Ms Heggessey,
During this past week we have received many complaints from British
Muslims who saw the episode of the BBC drama programme 'Spooks' which
was broadcast on BBC3 Digital on Monday 2nd June 2003, and is due to be
broadcast on BBC1 at 9.00pm this coming Monday 9th June 2003.
Having now seen a copy of the broadcast episode we would like to draw
your attention to the following serious concerns:
a) The programme, which was of a very sensational nature, unfortunately
only served to reinforce many negative stereotypes of British Muslims.
Instead of being a well-informed piece of film-making, this episode of
'Spooks' pandered to grossly offensive and Islamophobic caricatures of
Imams, Muslim students and mosques.
b) The programme did not at all sufficiently point out how the 'bad
Imam' would have been utterly disowned by the local Muslim community.
Only Mr Fazl Azam was shown as lamenting the takeover of the mosque by a
small criminally-minded group. Again, this is a distortion of reality
and can only serve to further demonise the mainstream Muslim community.
c) Near the beginning of the episode, Johnny, a British infiltrator of
the Birmingham mosque, is shown as having his cover blown and being
subsequently beaten and tortured by the other Muslim students inside the
mosque on the instructions of Muhammad Rashid, the sinister Imam. Johnny
is then flung out of the top-floor window and falls face-first on to a
car below. Your writer Mr Howard Brenton, seems to have allowed his
imagination to get the better of him. What was this incident based on?
If it was not based - however tenuously - on a real event, will it not
lead many of your viewers to suspect that mosques are criminally
dangerous places indeed, full of brainwashed and violent individuals.
d) The 'bad Imam' Muhammad Rashid was shown with a flowing beard,
whereas the 'good Imam' Fazl Azam was shown as being clean-shaven,
thereby buttressing the impression that bearded Muslims are to be
feared. In fact, you will find that most 'good' Imams are actually
bearded in line with the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
him).
e) A lot of the programme revolved around events taking place at a
Birmingham mosque. The mosque is a place where Muslims gather for their
five daily prayers. Yet, in the entire programme, not a single Muslim
was shown actually performing the salah, the Muslim ritual prayer. Many
viewers will have been left with a distorted impression of what actually
takes place inside mosques, perhaps now regarding them as a place for
political intrigue and the plotting of acts of terrorism.
f) A 16-year old Muslim boy, Abu Hasan, is portrayed as declaring, "I
must send an unbeliever to hell, only then will I see paradise". This is
inflammatory and factually inaccurate. What did the writer Howard
Brenton base this sentence on?
g) The same boy, Abu Hasan is shown at the end of the episode having
strapped on an explosive belt and walking into the middle of a
schoolground full of children. We are not aware of a single similar
episode occurring anywhere in the real world. We realize that this was a
fictional drama, but does this give licence to Mr Brenton to
deliberately portray a Muslim in any manner he wishes, even if it will
only increase the suspicion and hate towards Muslims?
In short, we believe that this episode of 'Spooks' will do a lot of harm
to the already woeful image of the British Muslim community that the
media itself has helped to create. It will only add to the fear and
suspicion that many Muslims have to face in their day-to-day lives. It
may even provoke an even greater increase in the amount of deliberate
abuse and violence that has been directed against our community and its
institutions in recent months.
We would like to ask whether - knowing full well the sensitivity of the
issues involved - you consulted any Muslim organizations in the UK on
the accuracy of your portrayal of Islam and Muslims in this episode of
'Spooks'?
To conclude, we believe the increased amount of Islamophobia that is
sure to result from the broadcasting of this programme at peak-time on
Monday is wholly unacceptable and a gross violation of your
responsibilities as a public service broadcaster. It is odd that - on
the other hand - factual and positive programmes on Islam often end up
in your BBC1 graveyard slot at 11.30pm.
Therefore, we would like to arrange an urgent meeting with you to
discuss this. In view of the urgency of this request, please could you
reply by return of email.

BNP-Islamist Axis Strikes Again

"WE WANT THIS ISLAMAPHOBIC RACIST HATE MOVIE DROPPED BEFORE IT IS SHOWN THIS COMING MONDAY, SCNELL!"
JA, MEIN FUHRER!
Of the description of the programme given by the BMCS, what are they objecting to in particular? The script reflects modern British society. Do they deny there are a few Islamic extremists in this country? Do they deny that Finsbury Park Mosque, for example, was used to deliver speeches calling for the extermination of non-muslims and the imposition of sharia law?
Irrespective of this, the prog ultimately portrays Islam as triumphing over a small extremist minority.
This seems to be yet another attempt by some British Muslims to bury their heads in the sand and ignore the problem of anti-western militancy in Britain.
Will they also be demanding that reports, past or present, of people who happened to be Muslims manufacturing ricin, trying to blow up planes with shoe bombs etc are similarly expunged from the media?
Having seen the programme on BBC3 when it was first screened, I believe it to be a sensitive and ultimately positive portrayal of Islam in the UK. It does not seek to ignore or dilute the increasingly obvious difficulties being created by violent advocates of Sharia, but neither does it portray Islam in a negative light. Without wishing to spoil it for anyone who wishes to watch it, Muslims turn out to be the good guys.
Watch it yourself and see what you think. No group has the right to tell me what I should or should not watch. I wouldn't take it from Mary Whitehouse, Nick Griffin, Joseph Goebbels or the Bristol Muslim Taliban Society.
There's a difference between Islamophobia and reasonable discussion. Is the Muslim community really so untouchable that NO portrayal, even one as balanced as the Spooks episode, is permissible?
No criticism of Sharia advocates, who would deny women all rights including education, execute homosexuals etc - I must agree with them because they are Muslims? Fuck that, I do not think so.

Actually the suicide bombing takes place away from the school, so this is an exaggeration.
Madrassahs teach children to hate the west and train them to become suicide Bombers;
Arguably, yes, but it is strongly implied that the young men are already disillusioned with British society.
quotes like "I will go straight to paradise if I kill just one Infidel" are used, said by a young boy of 16 who had explosives on his person while standing in a playground in Birmingham;
I don't remember the exact line, but there was something similar, something like 'if I send an infidel to hell I will go to paradise'. This isn't dissimilar from what Abu Qatada, Abdullah el-Faisal et al have preached in the past.
The first Muslim Spy that infiltrates the Mosque is caught and beaten to death;
Wrong! He is beaten and thrown out of a window, but he survives.
A Westernised Algerian brother, fair skin, light styled beard, offers his services to spy for MI5;
I don't see the problem here at all. The main 'baddie', Mohammed Rashid, also had very fair skin. It looked like he was being played by a big white baby. He looked about as Arabic as Tony Blair.
All the "bad guys" have beards and wear turbans;
No way! Rashid had a beard and a turban but almost everyone else didn't. Certainly all of the 'henchman' accompanying the suicide bomber who are shot by the Algerian agent didn't have either.
The Imam (Mullah) is arrested for Charity fraud when they can find no other evidence against him;
So the program portrayed MI5 fitting people up... and? Are you complaining on their behalf?
Asylum seekers are shown as fanatics abusing the system;
Not true. There were no references to asylum seekers anywhere in the programme. There was a reference to Rashid being a naturalised British citizen, but that's as close as it got.
Imams are referred to as Mullahs;
Nit-picking.
There is no good aspect of Islam shown.
Definitely not true. The programme went out of its way to show the orchestrators of the bombing as being shunned by the wider Muslim community, and to emphasise that most Muslims reject violent action. All in all, there was only ONE Muslim shown in a negative light, Rashid.

Guess what - it's not real

Er, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a FICTIONAL DRAMA, right? Like, that means, what you see on the screen DID NOT ACTUALLY HAPPEN and is not implied as such.
Or do you think everything on your screen is real???

Britains earliest Muslim communities date back to the 1800's, yet it seems they are an easy target for elements who wish to blame all Britains woes on its citizens that follow Islam. I hope those of you who do wish there to be a free,tolerant, democratic society here in Britain, with RIGHTS FOR ALL, will complain to the BBC before further programmes are made that damage relations between races in this country irreversibly, causing a wedge in communities and further alienating Britains Muslims. Despite the constant barrage of media Islamophobia, Islam is still the fastest growing religion in the UK, thus showing that not everyone trusts the media to provide an accurate view of Islam.

Say NO to Islamic Censorship

Why was the mosque vandalised BEFORE the program was broadcast on BBC1, handing ammunition to the Taliban Censorship Committees around the UK calling for the program to be banned?
Obvious: the mosque was vandalised BY MUSLIMS seeking, once again, to FORCE ORDINARY PEACEFUL BRITONS, of all religions and races, TO BOW DOWN TO THE WILL OF THE ISLAMOFASCISTS.

The above link refers to the attack on the Mosque, so you can see if was clearly done by "2 white youths", thereby negating your zionist/BNP lie that Muslims did it to their own sacred place of worship.
Further zionist/BNP propoganda..."The phrase 'religion of peace' is continually uttered and being a Muslim often makes someone complete immune from any criticism."
Oh being immune like the hundreds of innocent Muslims who were rounded up and thrown in prisons under the new terrorism laws, and who were released almost 2 years later, or in the case of the United States, havent been released yet with their families unaware even where they are.
"once again, to FORCE ORDINARY PEACEFUL BRITONS, of all religions and races, TO BOW DOWN TO THE WILL OF THE ISLAMOFASCISTS."
Muslims wield no influence on British society, infact the first time Muslims engaged actively in society in Britain was on the anti-war march. There is a certain group however who do control Blair and use him as a puppet to further their own nefarious agenda- Britains longest serving MP, Tam Dalyell, knows about it and was brave enough to speak on the record concerning it. However, it was political suicide and he is now being prosecuted for speaking the truth. The war on Iraq was waged for the rogue state "Israel", and was directed by the butcher of Sabra and Shatila, Sharon. Its only a matter of time before Iran, Syria and anyone else who the zionists wants to destroy are targeted by their tools of war, Britain and the US. They are just trying to conjure up excuses to attack. Most citizens of these countries are saying no to all wars, yet they are ignored. Many are asking why, in a so called democracy can the people not be listened to. However, when the following was leaked, the picture became clearer to the world....
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM -- An acrimonious argument erupted during the Israeli cabinet weekly session last week between Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his foreign Minister Shimon Peres during which Sharon reportedly yelled at Peres, saying "don't worry about American pressure, we control America."
According the Israeli Hebrew radio Kol Yisrael Wednesday, Peres warned Sharon that refusing to heed incessant American requests for a cease-fire with the Palestinians would endanger Israeli interests and turn the US against us.
At this point, a furious Sharon reportedly turned toward Peres, saying "every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it."
The radio said Peres and other cabinet ministers warned Sharon against saying what he said in public, because "it would cause us a public relations disaster."
