Last Saturday activists from the Cardiff Anarchist Network staged a solidarity protest with comrades at the G8 demos in Evian by giving away homemade organic food outside a city centre McShitehole.
The purpose of the action was to provide space to try alternatives to McDeath, and to provide info about the continuing corporate stranglehold over the G8.
Leaflets were distributed outside the door, and many customers were persuaded to take the healthier ethical option. The store manager came to the shop front to argue with the dangerous anarchists, but the tactic backfired when it turned out that this rather overweight McManager was almost as effective at turning people away as the protestors.
The event was the last stop on a Tour Of Corporate Shame organised by the Cardiff Social Forum. This successful event led a march along the main shopping street providing shoppers with alternative info on such companies as Sainsburies, Starbucks, HSBC, Gap and Nike.
