Bush and Blair insist Iraqs weapons of mass destruction will be found

Realist | 01.06.2003 12:37

Mr Blair, who is now in France for the G8 summit, said the results of interviews with Iraqi scientists and others had left him in no doubt on the weapons issue. There were also investigations under way at "hundreds" of Iraq sites which were turning up more evidence, he said.

Mr Blair said: "Over the coming weeks and months we will assemble this evidence and then we will give it to people.

"And I have no doubt whatever that the evidence of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction will be there. Absolutely," he said. "Those people who are sitting there saying: 'Oh, it's all going to be proved to be a great big fib got out by the security services, there will be no weapons of mass destruction' - just wait, and have a little patience."

Both the US and UK Governments have faced a wave of accusations in recent days that they embellished intelligence on the weapons issue to justify the controversial war. US President George Bush expressed satisfaction on Sunday with the hunt for alleged weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, citing the discovery of suspected bio-labs and a banned weapons system.

WMDs are not the point

whether Iraq had WMDs is NOT the point. The USA & UK certainly have them AND use them!

To invade another country is ILLEGAL under International Law. Period. No spurious excuses or justifications will wash.

Oh thats alright then

Oh, well, if that nice Mr Blair sez so, then it must be so, mustn't it?

I mean its not like he's ever misled anybody before, is it?

And its not like politicians ever cheat or exaggerate or try to pull the wool over stupid, gullible people's eyes simply to advance their own political agenda, is it?

Sur Realist, once again, thou art the divviest of mindless sheep. Unlike you, I require evidence to support politicians' statements, not the bland assurances of a hypocritical religious fanatic.

Blair may well be "confident" that WMDs will be found. He was also confident of getting a second UN resolution to support the war and of a "Baghdad Bounce" bringing him victory in the May council elections.

He was wrong then. He is wrong now. And you are wrong always.

I hope Special Branch pay you well, 'cos this sort of thing will mess your mind up.

Kiss kiss, dummy.
