let's enjoy the summer!

There were many activities and stalls for everyone, concerts, shows, good bands and singers, and lots of fun! Even the sun joined the party!

Oxford indymedia did one of its first public appearance with a basic stall; the idea of an independent and non-corporate media in Oxford was happily welcomed by many people that didn't really know anything about indymedia before, and many new ideas and projects were shared and discussed.

The day ended up in a wonderful outdoor party with tams-tams, djembes, drums, saxophones, banjos, bagpipes and lots of dancing!

Summer is here; we have to create free spaces to enjoy it!

Brilliant day. Fun and laughs had by all. I was helping with the pizza oven (disguised as a turtle) the design of which is based on traditional Italian methods (except the turtle aspect). The pizza oven really came about in the first place because the selection of food at the canal fest last year that wasn't hotdogs was very limited. The vegetarian choice last year came down to potato wedges I believe. If anyone has any pictures of it in operation please send them in because we were too busy to take any ourselves.
One of the best aspects of the day was that the generator powering the sound system was running on biodiesel as opposed to red or normal diesel (which significantly lowers the levels of toxins released).
For more information on biodiesel please visit: www.goldenfuels.com.
