Thessaloniki: about 100 arrests, 25-25 are brought in front of the magistrate

Over 100 arrests at the protest against the EU-Summit in Thessaloniki, 22-35 will be brought in front of the magistrate today.

At the moment there are about 100 persons in front of the court building, because soon in the afternoon the arrested should be brought in front of the magistrate.
Half an hour ago lawyers have informed the Legal team in front of the court building, that there were about 100 persons arrested on Saturday.
However, most of them were released in the night or in the early morning.
At the moment, there are still for sure 22 and maybe even up to 36 persons in custody.
This can not be determined exactly, because the cops have taken people to different jails
and not all informations are available.
It is expected, that during the day the exact numbers of the arrested including their names will be announced.

22, maybe more prisoners will be brought in front of the magistrate. 10-15 will face "lighter" charges(?) and 7 more severe charges (?).
Severe charges are the possession of molotov cocktails and severe "breach of the peace"(?) or "capital crime" (?).
These are only the charges brought up by police, how much will remain in front of the judges, is at the moment up for speculation.

For sure there are 7 people in prison, who are not greek.
Amongst them 1 US, 1 British, 1 from Syria, 2 Spanish und 2 Austrian.
Apparantly the Syrian is an political activist living in Greeece, who is politically pursued in Syria. Apparantly his lawyers say it is quite an important case that he should not be deported.

please note: that due to not knowing the legal system in Greece there might be some slight inaccuracies translating the legal terms.
