Update of today's events at the Salonika summit.

Salonika Update:

1.45 pm: The march in Marmara Chalkasis, about 100 km from Thessaloniki and the actual venue for the summit, has started.

2.15 pm: March has been attacked from the rear and people are dispersing. First clashes between black bloc and police.

Meanwhile at the margins of the summit, a few hundred anarchists, according to Greek TV, have started throwing molotovs and stones towards the lines of police blocking the road between Neos Marmaras and Porto Carras. It seems that stones started flying from behind, when a group of “ disobedients” approached the lines of police stationed about 2km from the hotel where the summit is being held. Police responded with tear gas, scattering the people into neighbouring fields under the drone of a couple of helicopters.

2.30 pm: The salonica 2003 bloc has been attacked and is moving backwards.
Social forum bloc has withdrawn from its original route after being attacked but is approaching the red zone by an alternative route

3.08 pm: From Radio 1431AM salonica: medical team attached to the social forum is reporting numerous injuries in today’s march due to heavy police charges and widespread use of tear gas.
