Anarchist techs have installed their radio broadcast software on Law Faculty computers and are currently broadcasting Ozzy Osbourne tunes and news updates in 4 languages including English. You can listen to the broadcast in MP3 software such as WinAmp, iTunes, or XMMS - just open the stream at http://dimitra.law.auth.gr:8000. The US consulate is closed although everything remains peaceful at this point. There are nearly 20,000 security personnel including a division of the Greek army around the Summit.

Protesting against the EU?
19.06.2003 14:56
It all sounds a bit vague and tiresome, doesn't it? Would someone remind me why, as in previous years, people are going to protest *against* the EU summit? Because of some kind of fundamental opposition to the EU? Or is the word 'against' not correct?
I've got nothing against protesting *at* the EU summit, as long as people are protesting for a coherent reason, or a set of coherent reasons. I just think that whoever writes this stuff should maybe make clear that there are resons why people might want to protest at the summit, rather than make out that it's just the tiresome burdon of the protesting classes to trawl themselves about the place, protesting against anything and everything.
Don't get me wrong, having a protest is necessary, it's the language of the post I'm taking issue with.
