Annemasse, May 31.
This morning, at the VAAAG, people decided to do an action against a socialist party conference at the "Chateau Rouge" in Annemasse to show that the socialist Party has no space amongst the anti-G8
11.45am
About 200 people left from the VAAAG to show their disagreement with the Socialist Party conference. It is obvious that strong police presence is already in place. The march continues.
12.40pm
Following actions and some broken windows around the "Château Rouge", the police charged and is arresting people. The legal team should come up with precise numbers of arrests any time now. Those who stayed in the village are mobilising to go down to Annemasse to support the protest.
12.50pm
Barricades are being set up to resist the police charges. Police is now using tear gas.
1.55pm
The majority of protesters is quietly going back towards the VAAAG, while a small group continues to stay behind the barricade.
1pm
Nobody was wounded. The police is armed with flash-balls, but they didn't use them. Police has managed to separate people in two groups. The medical team and the legal team move towards the place, supported by the inhabitants of the VAAAG. One of the groups is bearing a particularly energetic charge of the police (teargas)
1.10pm
Both groups have managed to join again and are now facing 200 to 300 CRS.
1500 to 2000 ppl are slowing going back to the village, pushed by two lines of CRS, tear gas and fumes. They are shouting "Police partout - Justice Nulle part" quoting Victor Hugo ("I see police everywhere, justice nowhere")
