G8 29th. Lausanne.

We got on a train from Geneva to Lausanne, there was about 60 of us including the G8 leaders in puppet form. It was decided that the first action would be a statement for freedom of movement by refusing to pay our fares. The ticket seller seemed to understand.

Dont ask me how many there was on the demo I didnt have time to count them. Some people said 5,000 others said ten. We were treated to a tropical storm which seemed to add to the atmosphere. At one point some riot cops appeared for seemingly no reason and had a few stones thrown at them.

A local woman invited five of us back to her place to dry out and drink coffee. She told us how the entire swiss media had turned into the Daily Mail for the build up to the demos. She also told us how loads of local people had ended up getting involved just to stick two fingers up to the media.

The way back was much like our arrival this time three ticket sellers had to be argued with but none of us paid.

IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK!
