Aberdeen Army Careers Office incident

I only know about this because by pure chance I walked bang into the middle of it while I was enjoying a walk in the Aberdeen sunshine. There have been no media reports of it so far, but film crews and press were there. I didn't see it from the beginning but was filled in by people in the crowds who had gathered to watch.
A large part of Aberdeen city centre was closed to traffic and pedestrians for about 3 hours this afternoon by the police and army. Apparently someone threw a package into the Army Careers Office and shouted "Here's a present for you boys". Shops, restaurants, pubs, offices and houses were evacuated. The cordons were removed and things were back to normal after the bomb disposal unit arrived and did whatever it is they do.
As an aside, Prince Andrew performed some ceremonial unveiling of some statue in Inverness today.
