Viva Carlo - lyrics and music - (English)

VIVA CARLO
By divaPastyDroneAugust 3, 2001
Sometimes words are not enough...
This song is dedicated to Carlo Giuliani and to those protesters still missing.
Please feel free to pass it on and make copies.
The Song: VIVA CARLO (.mp3) 1.3 MB
Lyrics:
Bands on of black, pink, white
Travelling across the night
People from every state
Witness and delegate
of Earth in its silent pain
of children in chains again
Gathered in Genoa
to mourn for our whole sick world
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
But the 'crowned heads' of Italy
turned blind eyes to fascisti
letting them infiltrate,
agreeing to leash their hate
Carlo, our Labor's son,
took action without a gun
Now crumpled beneath a sheet
His blood flows into the street
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Later the youth all slept
off shouting and tears they'd wept
Thugs crept into their lull
and woke them by cracking skulls
What of the sixty-three
savaged in Italy?
And what of the dozen more
no one's heard from?
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Violence is not the way
they'll hear what we have to say
They use it to twist the truth
and split apart every group
But we hold the deeper power
It's growing with every hour
We are their economy
and we own our destiny.
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo
Viva, viva, viva Carlo

Geneva boarded up ahead of g8 protests
29.05.2003 14:03
The wooden boards have now become canvasses for people and groups to express their views about the g8 and global society with graffiti, posters quickly appearing. Some posters have appeared merely bearing slogans, as well as those already prepared to advertise the protest. Outside Credit Suisse, a major international finance company graffiti reads "wood can burn" (sic).

Annoying backgrund-music during Live-Webcast
31.05.2003 19:42
... And here's the *but* :-)
For foreigners like me it's hard to concentrate on what is being said during the panels (like on today's discussion about imageproduction between open source and surveillance) when there's constant background music.
Maybe this feature could be left out during the coming brodcasts?
Thank you and all best wishes.

call for international day of action anti-g8
01.06.2003 19:55
tomorrow; 2 june, starting 11am onwards, we call for international actions against swiss targets in solidarity with the anti-g8 protestors in switzerland and france. we are tired of the continuous trend of harrasment and brutality which we meet everywhere. check indymedia for what has happened so far, i m too tired to go into details.
please spread this information as fast as possible and use your imagination.
our thoughts especilly go out to the british citizen who was almost killed by police in lausanne, and those arrested and deported.
a group of autonomous activists.
