Anti-G8 Protest in Laussane

Matt S | 26.05.2003 19:39 | Evian G8

As well as Geneva there is an entire mobilisation taking place in Laussane, mostly centred around the possibility of creative direct action stopping the G8 summit.

As well as all the camps and marches in Geneva, there is also a mobilisation against the G8 in Laussane (the other side of the lake from Evian). The possibility of creative direct action to stop the movement of the delegates towards Laussane is high, if enough people come to Laussane with inspiration and enthusiasm.

There is a Laussane IMC up already, and the main centre of protest will be the c'village, which is on the lakeside site of the University-Dorigny. In particular, the c'village will be the convergence point for the Laussane Pink and Silver block; combining party and protest, resistance and festival.

To get there, take the Metro from Laussane railway station (CFF). Go one stop to the Laussane-Flon, and then change to the Metro-Ouest line. Get off at the stop called UNIL-Dorigny, from where it is a 10 minute walk to the lakeside camp.

DOWN WITH THE G8!
