BNP-1, ASLEF-0

BNP-1, ASLEF-0

Victories for the British National Party do not always come in the form of success at the ballot box. A new era is taking shape; an era where Britons are fighting back after decades of being persecuted by the institutions that promote inequality against our people. In the old era it was possible for businesses to sack employees just because those employees were members of the BNP. In the old era it was possible for unions to sack members for the same reason.

In 2002 Sunderland BNP member and North East Regional Organiser, Kevin Scott accepted an out-of-court settlement from DIY giant B&Q, who had previously sacked him from his job. Thursday (22nd) witnessed another legal victory for the Party, when an employment tribunal found a union which expelled a train driver had acted unlawfully, after learning that he was a member of the British National Party

The rail union ASLEF expelled Jay Lee, a driver with Virgin Trains, after being informed by the "Anti-Nazi League" that he was a BNP activist. Mr. Lee stood for the BNP in local elections in Bexley, Kent.

But the tribunal found no evidence that ASLEF had been brought into disrepute by Mr. Lee. The union had not been mentioned in any publicity about Mr. Lee’s BNP activities. The ruling said that ASLEF had breached the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1992 which protects union members from being expelled on the ground of their political memberships.

ASLEF was found to have mispresented its own policy by falsely claiming that it had passed a resolution sanctioning the expulsion of members of “fascist parties”.

Lee Barnes, one of our legal advisers said: “ASLEF have wasted tens of thousands of pounds of their members’ money victimising Mr Lee.”

Mr. Lee can now look forward to "substantial compensation". This brings a very satisfactory conclusion to one of a number of cases our legal team is fighting in the courts and tribunals around the country. The message is clear to employers, unions and other institutions. We in the BNP are serious about winning. We will tolerate political persecution of our members any more. Join with us, stay out of our way or be prepared to pay up in court!
