Protest song

For anyone who enjoyed the singalong at in the Mayday riot pen, here's some lyrics for a poss. cover version of the Stealer's Wheel classic...

Well, I know why I came here tonight:
I got the feeling that no-one should fight
I'm so scared you'll use the teargas again,
'Cause I don't think that i can stand the pain.
Pigs to the left of me,
Coppers to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle of you.

Yes I'm stuck in the middle of you,
And I'm wondering what you're going to do...
It's not cool to beat us down on the floor,
And I don't think that I can take any more.
Pigs to the left of me,
Coppers to the right,
Here I am, stuck in the middle of you.

Well you started out with batons,
And you're proud of all the 'scum' you beat.
When you run into the crowd,
Kick us till we bleed,
We'll say 'Please...
Please...'

Its got a good hook, but you can't dance to it.

At least you can't if the police tell you to stop. ;-)
