29th May is the Second International Day of Action Against Depleted Uranium

db | 19.05.2003 23:20

Last year was great with actions happening truly all over the world. This year there has been quite a bit (although not enough) press attention over the use of DU in Iraq
and of course outrage at the war so hopefully we can all make an even bigger event. It would be great if groups and individuals working against DU could organise something in their area and also would advertise this day as wide as possible.

The 29th May is the Second International Day of Action Against Depleted Uranium
Last year was great with actions happening truly all over the world. This year there has been quite a bit (although not enough) press attention over the use of DU in Iraq
and of course outrage at the war so hopefully we can all make an even bigger event. It would be great if groups and individuals working against DU could organise something in their area and also would advertise this day as wide as possible.

CADU has prepared flyers to advertise the day and we have an (updated) list of places and companies connected with depleted uranium in Britian. We can try to find out targets for those interested in other countries as well. We also have leaflets that are suitable for actions as well that we can send out. If there is other types of support we can help you with please let us know. We can send you flyers to advertise the day if you phone the office. Please do let us know if you are organising anything so we can publicise it.

Suggestions for Action
1
Write to or visit your local MP and MEP and discuss DU with them. Try and get them to say whether or not they support the EU moratorium and the Early Day Motions on the use of DU.

2
Organise a public meeting in your area. CADU can provide speakers and displays within a reasonable distance of Manchester (see resources).
