The first occurrence of fluoridated drinking water on Earth was found in Germany's Nazi prison camps. The Gestapo had little concern about fluoride's supposed effect on children's teeth; their alleged reason for mass-medicating water with sodium fluoride was to sterilize humans and force the people in their concentration camps into calm submission. The following letter was received by the Lee Foundation for Nutritional Research, Milwaukee Wisconsin, on 2 October 1954, from Mr. Charles Perkins, a chemist:
"I have your letter of September 29 asking for further documentation regarding a statement made in my book, The Truth About Water Fluoridation, to the effect that the idea of water fluoridation was brought to England from Russia by the Russian Communist Kreminoff. "In the 1930's, Hitler and the German Nazi's envisioned a world to be dominated and controlled by a Nazi philosophy of pan-Germanism. The German chemists worked out a very ingenious and far-reaching plan of mass-control which was submitted to and adopted by the German General Staff. This plan was to control the population in any given area through mass medication of drinking water supplies. By this method they could control the population in whole areas, reduce population by water medication that would produce sterility in women, and so on. In this scheme of mass-control, sodium fluoride occupied a prominent place. ...
"Repeated doses of infinitesimal amounts of fluoride will in time reduce an individual's power to resist domination, by slowly poisoning and narcotizing a certain area of the brain, thus making him submissive to the will of those who wish to govern him. [A convenient light lobotomy]

says the EPA is holding a discussion on fluoridation and that as of yet not a single scientist has come forward to defend fluoridation.

MASSIVE doses of the stuff can cause sterility but not at the levels that are intended to be added.
In fact i bet more of you intake sterility causing toxins from cigarette smoke and alcohol and breath in toxins from car exhausts and the like in a week, then proposed flouride additions to water will contribute to in a decade.

'reality check', I don't know where you get that information but I suspect it is wrong. When toothpaste is used most of it is spat out after using it. That won't be the same with tap water. It's also an issue of choice. If people want fluoride in their water they can add it themselves.

Maybe that's why the Birmingham area, for all its second city status seems to produce nothing of relevance other than an accent that still tends to denote - um -slow on the uptake. No offence Brummies, let's think of a famous son - errr- Ozzy Osbourne - he must be from somewhere around there - yikes!

Despite the anti-American comments, we'll try to help you.
Americans started fluoridating in the 1940's and 1950's when people blindly trusted doctors, when fluoride was thought to be an essential nutrient for teeth, and when fluoride ingestion was thought to prevent decay.
Shame on you if you don't thwart your government's efforts to fluoridate you. Fluoride is absorbed from toothpaste from the mucous membranes of your mouth no matter how much and how often you spit. Science now claims fluoride's beneficial effects, if any, are topical. Ingesting fluoride only leads to adverse effects such as discolored teeth and deformed bones.
Poor diet leads to cavities. Fluoride can't prevent decay caused by a poor diet. Fluoride deficiency doesn't cause tooth decay.
Studies show fluoridation is ineffective, harmful and a waste of money. Fluoridating your water means fluoridating most of your food supply; then you'll never know how much fluoride you are ingesting. Those pro and con fluoridation agree that too much fluoride is a bad thing.
Many studies conducted by American scientists show that we need to cut-back on fluoride use because our children's teeth are fluorosed but still decayed. Ironically, fluoride overdose leads to more rather than less tooth decay. Unfortately, dentists don't seem to read their own literature and preach the gospel according to fluoride.
The most successful way we've fought fluoridation in the states is with political action at the grass roots level. That means alerting your neighbors and flooding your elected officials with orders to keep fluoride out of your water.
