Another case of collective punishment meted out by one of the worlds most relentlessly occupying and brutal military states.
The deportation hearing of Mahmood Sulleiman Al Saadi from Jenin Camp was held last Tuesday April 30 in Beit El military court, Ramallah. The hearing was suspended and a secret decision reached a few days ago to simply deport him. His file is at Erez Checkpoint/Border Control now and he is expected to be transfered from the West Bank to Gaza within the next few days. He will be forced to remain there for the next 2 years.
Mahmood Sulleiman Saadi, aged 29, was arrested on June 19 along with thousands of other men from Jenin camp during a major IOF operation. Every man aged between 15 and 50 was ordered to leave their homes, rounded up and herdered into the Camp's school. Men were then taken to various prisons and detained from 2 days to the present day and perhaps beyond. Mahmood is still being held without charge in Ofar prison, Israel until his deportation in a few days. There has been no reason given for the decision to deport him.
Mahmood has three children (two girls aged 10 and 8, and one boy aged 3) and a wife waiting for him in Jenin Camp.
Mahmoud's brother Ali was one of the military heads of Islamic Jihad in the West Bank. Ali is now in prison for the rest of his life after being arrested during the April invasion and massacre in the Camp last year.
Mahmoud and his family are being punished as part of the Israeli government's enduring policy of collective punishment - illegal under the 4th geneva convention - which targets the families of fighters, martyr bombers and political leaders and demolishes their homes and arrestes, tortures and imprisons their relatives.
Please try to either hold a solidarity demonstration or picket with Mahmoud and his family or contact the following:
Tips when emailing or calling
*Maybe* you work for a local paper, college magazine, underground zine, corporate news agency or peace organisation? It's always good to call up and ask for a formal statement on why exactly Mahmood is facing potential deportation to Gaza. What purpose does this service? Where did the order come from? What is the evidence for supporting the deportation on Mahmood? If it's classified then why so? And the rest you can just thrash out independently. Being from a paper or independent media outlet always helps as it shows the IOF and Israeli State that their policies and their effects on the lives of ordinary people are going to transmitted and spread far and wide. That the news will travel and influence and inform.
If you are calling or emailing as a concerned individual then it's important to stress that you heard about his case from a media source - Indymedia or something or a local newsletter or maybe just from a circulating email from a friend - it helps to have the authorities responsible know that there is information out there circulating widely and that Mahmood's case is well known.

Dear ............,
I am writing to express my concern about the deportation of Mahmood Sullieman Saadi (ID card number 927293019/ DOB 2/11/73) to Gaza this week. I feel it is unfair and unjustified to send Mahmood to Gaza. He also has a three young children and wife waiting for him in Jenin who miss him very much. Mahmood has not committed an offence but was arrested during the June round-up of men in Jenin Camp aged 15-50. Thus far, he has not been told of the charges against him. He is being targetted becuase his brother, currently serving multiple life sentences, was military head of Jihad Islami in the West Bank.
I strongly advise you to let Mahmood go back to his family following his release from Ofer and not to Gaza which will be yet another form of supplementary imprisonment for him and in effect a further collective punishment of Mahmood's family who have now been missing him for almost a year.
Sincerely
ADDRESSES

NO normal, sane, educated (on the subject) people use "the zionists" or "the zionazis" when discussing this issue at all. "The zionists" are ANYONE, ANYWHERE in the world, of ANY RACE OR RELIGION who support the EXISTENCE of israel as a jewish nation-state. You don't have to actually be israeli or in the israeli government or army to be a "zionist," you don't have to be jewish, and you certainly don't have to support everything the isareli government or army does, to be a "ZIONIST" all you have to do is support israel's existence as a jewish nation-state, which about 99% of normal, sane human beings who understand history and aren't affected by religious stuff do.
So, when y ou nutcases rant and rave about "The zionists" there are millions of zionists around the world who have nothing to do with the bad stuff you blame on "the zionists."
And "zionazis" is an IDIOTIC expression considering the isareli government is NOT fighting with it's own citizens who are not jewish, the isareli governemnt is fighting with people who live next door, are NOT israeli citizens, and refuse to stop attacking israel.
Israel is not fighting with random muslims or random arabs. Israel is not hurting their own israeli citizens who are muslim or arab. Israel is not fighting with arabs or muslims in jordan or egypt or other random places. Israel is fighting with a specific group of people who refuse to stop attacking them.
The goal of "zionism" is the safety of israel. Comparing it with "nazis" whose goal was to exterminate a religion/race of people from an entire contiennt for that reason and that reason only, and to take over the continent or world as well.
Again, anyone who rants about "zionists' is usually an idiot. And anyone who even uses the term "zionazis" instantly reveals themself to be a crazed irrational nutcase.
