There really is absolutely no point in uploading such large files. Probably 95% of people accessing Indymedia use dial up and each picture will take about 5 mins to appear on their screen even with a fast 56k modem. Besides which it probably knackers the already overloaded indy site. Every digital camera comes with software which should allow you to resize your pictures. Suggest no more than about 800 pixels maximum horizontally. This should give a filesize of no more than 100k.
These might be the best pictures from all of Mayday but they're effectively out of bounds to nearly everyone. I didn't have the patience to look beyond the first one.

I agree with jo, I diddnt even get to see one of these pictures. Indimedia should be about access for all

Beautiful pictures. It'd be a shame to limit people to low-quality pictures. Why not provide a low-res version and a high-res version, on separate pages, so that the impatient can get their quick fix?
