Between June 1-3rd, the G8 ("Gang of 8") summit returns to Europe after last year's retreat to the mountains of Canada (more), following the mass protests in Genoa (more) Italy, in 2001. Activists have called for actions and protests to accompany the summit which will be held in Evian, France, near Geneva. Protestors will converge in several villages around lake Leman (Evian itself will be sealed off), and are planning a number of creative actions. Activists will hold counter conferences and meetings throughout the entire week.
