24.04.03, Jenin
The Rememberance demo for the beginning of the invasion and the dawning of the massacre took place, without curfew and without any military presence whatsoever not uniformed anyway, Im sure all the jaaysous (collaborators) and maybe some undercover were all there, to snap the fighters, clock their faces without their anonymity, balaclavas or the night to hide them.

So, it's been three weeks since I've finally had the chance to sit down and relay whats been happening here and it's been a very eventful two weeks. At first I came here when curfew had been lifted and I felt positive about everything. It was great seeing old friends, talk in lots of Arabic again, get the 'duftar' - notebook out and scribble down new words, get the low down on everybodies news. I sat and drank a lot of tea, talked, the sun shone, there were no shots to be heard at night. I hadn't barely seen a tank in Nablus, the West Bank city I travelled up from. People were smiling, spirits were up, the market was bustling, what can I say? Jenin really was 'tammam' - OK.

2 days into being here I realised, starkly, how Jenin was never (Abedan) OK.
