Le Pen, Facist Is Smashed

Le Pen the French fascist was shown that the ordinary people of Cambridge will not stand for racism and violence.
French fascist Jean Marie Le Pen was invited to speak at the Cambridge by the Cambridge union debating society. As mass mobilisation took place under the slogan of ‘no platform for Nazis’. At least 100 people attended the demonstration that was organised within 38 hours.
Le Pen was given a proper welcome by anti fascists as he entered the building and had his windscreen cracked.
The Anti Nazis stayed outside the union building while Le Pen was inside keeping up endless chants against the Nazis who deny the holocaust and feed racial hatred. The left was truly untied with even labour MP Anne Campbell coming to lend her supports to the Anti Nazi league.
The demonstration was amazing considering that there was so little time to gain support. It also proved why we oppose the Nazis from speaking wherever they come. BNP thugs were present as Le Pen left the building and got into a car that the Fascists had marked as a taxi. They kicked and punched the people protesting against this nazi, and several were hurt. The BNP wants to be part of mainstream politics but they back up their campaign with carefully aimed kicks and punches.
We need to bring Anti-Nazi movement forward so that we can oppose the Nazis wherever they speak, and stop them from gaining credibility, and wining elections.

Could someone post a comment if that link is to a far-right or racist site then I or one of the IMC team will delete it.

Yeah, right - and you didn't make yourselves seem like small-minded fascists acting against the freedom of speech, either.
If you disagree with Le Pen, then argue against him - trying to stop someone speaking just because you disagree with them is just ignorance and cowardice.
ANL wankers.

The content seems harmless but irrelevant (personal blog) to indymedia. A related link which has viewable content was here: http://www.wide.eu.org/folio/ (don't bother to read it)

and Brian exactly how many BNP votes and how many racist attacks will it take before you take a stand against the fascists?
Perhaps you can write a very erudite essay about the evils of racism and post it on indymedia, I’m sure that will shut them up and stop asian kids being dowsed in petrol and set on fire.
After all we have freedom of speech, I’m sure the Nazis are waiting to be convinced…………….

So far as BNP votes go - do you believe in democracy, or not? If you don't just come out and say so.
I don't recall an epidemic of asian kids being doused in petrol and set on fire either - perhaps you have a source to enlighten me.
Twat yourself.

In an open debate, the audience should be intellegent enought to see through the Nazi rubbish, and if the didn't like the view represented, they can express an alternative, and (was there a left-wing sepaker at the debate?) and if enough anti-facists were to turn up it would make the facist's attendence counter-productive, cause his views would be made to be seen as they truly are.
But no, the Anti-Nazi League go ahead with their rabid "NAZIS NO NO NO NO!!!" rants, attempt to stifle free speech, and the facists (in this incident, Le Pen) leaves in a stronger position, and with more ammuntion to attack the anti-facist movement with.

Incitation to violence
28.04.2003 17:32
I believe that if Le Pen would incite people to violence, then his supporters would have had a go against the ANL. Instead, the victim, yes the peaceful one was exactly him, Le Pen, assaulted by the ones accussing him of inciting to violence....
In such way, ANL looses all its credibility, turns out as even worse as the people they are posed against, and makes its message less attractive to everyone.
If they do not agree with him, then they should have done some homework, got people in to ask the right the questions and show any inconsistencies with his position, and demonstrate their position in this way.
That's what I think at least...

as per the crap democarcy argument, democracy is a two way thing, and it dosn't exist as i would like it to in this countory and it never has, democracy isn't about elcting you dictators after they tell you waht you want to hear. Democracy is about ordary people controlling there own lives, nothing more nothing less.
The BNP are an orgisation who has strong facist roots, and is based on the tradition of historical nazi partyies, Hitler was never elected in fact the nazi vote was down on previous elctions when he cam to power. The nazis came to power undemocraticly and installed a terror state because it suited the big buisnesses and fat cats in power to smash the sucsessfull german unions.
The BNP will never win a democratic election, but we must opose them because the way our country is run we are far from living in a democracy, in places where the nazis have set up headquaters and centers of activity, racist atacks have shot up and people get killed, the ANL is not about being undemocratic, its about protecting peoples democratic rights to feel safe in there own comunitys.
The Nazis beat people up, and kill people for there apearance or sutuation, it goes beyond being undemocratic towards people for there views.

Freedom is a word so "overused" in todays society that we have become complacent on its true meaning. We are no nearer free than our forefathers fought for 60 years hence. The influx of refugee's has been tainted by media reports of these "thugs, rapists, criminals" but the true figure of those who really do flee their homeland to be free, not to felch on our society aren't given the media coverage they deserve.
Please if you value your home, your life, your family, then think. Not necessarily act, but think. What is it worth ?
