WHILE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SUPPORTS THE RESOLUTION OF THE UNITED NATIONS THAT CONDEMNS THE SITUATION OF THE INDIVIDUAL GUARANTEES IN CUBA. CIVIL ORGANIZATIONS ALERT ON THE AMBIGUITY AND DANGER Of THE OFFICIAL SPEECH.

A student of cinematography of Hispanic-Argentinean nationality who collaborates with groups in the freedom of political prisoners and conscience received threats of death in Mexico city reason why different groups from human rights initiated a information campaign to alert on the ambiguity of the official policy in this sense since they assured that it is not possible to condemn the violations to the fundamental liberties in other countries when in Mexico exist one serious situation on the matter.

In recent days the administration of president Vicente Fox showed its preoccupation by the situation of the human rights in Cuba and added its vote of sentence in the General Assembly of United Nations at moments at which several politics of the White House have declared their interest in applying to more severe policies against other countries in the context of the war to terrorism to assure the democracy and the freedom in the world, and after which the Cuban government decided to shoot to 3 kidnappers who fomented a new conspiracy supported by resident groups in Miami related to the CIA against the government of Fidel Castro.

The Apri 14th Emiliano Altuna Fistolera received in his house in Mexico City a letter written to machine and with a false sender with threats of death by its participation in the documentary elaboration of cinematographic about the case of the Cerezo Contreras brothers, students of the National University of Mexico actually imprisoned in the penitentiary of high security of La Palma in Almoloya de Juárez, State of Mexico. In the text of the letter it can be read the following thing: ”(...) we know where you live, and the damned little films that do you arms, so don´t you be like a fucking heroe boy, so that you already know that where you live they assault and they kill in any corner, so that be careful so that this is the only warning that you are going to receive, can happen to you what ETA does in your country(...)”. As well, in several telephone calls he has received different types from threats.

Emiliano Altuna is student of the Center of Cinematographic Training, dependent institution of the National Council for the Culture and the Arts and of the Mexican Institute of Cinematography, and in the last months it was developing to a scholastic work on the case of the Cerezo Contreras brothers sentenced to thirteen years and six months of prison since August 13 of 2001, when the brothers Alejandro, Héctor and Antonio Cerezo Contreras, along with Pablo Alvarado Flores, were stopped and tortured in their address by elements of the Mexican army accused of acts of terrorism against banking instalations of the Banamex-Citigroup corporation.

Considering that Emiliano Altuna makes a work in the human rights please and any type of enemies does not he have and that has not become jumbled in subjects of the internal policy of the country some problem between individuals discards, reason why is greater the possibility of than tie sectors with authorities could be causing this climate of repression.

It is necessary to remember that lawyer Digna Ochoa y Placido were assassinated the October 19 2001, who like Barbara Zamora made legal support to the lawyer Pilar Noriega in the case of the defense of the Cerezo Contreras brothers. This murder was made 3 days before they were carried out an important legal procedure that it would demonstrate that the tests presented for the sentence of the students were false.

The Observatory for the Protection of Defenders of the Human rights as well as mass media asked for the Mexican authorities assures physical and psychological integrity of Emiliano Altuna Fistolera and that they are asking for an investigation about these facts in fulfillment of the recommendations formulated by national and international organisms that demands the adoption of concrete and urgent measures to implement the Declaration of the Defenders of Human rights emitted by the General Assembly of United Nations the december 9 1998 and signed by the Mexican government.
