about mayday, about the movement

dear everyone, i would like to open a discussion about the situation of the movement in england, in particular in london, the city where i live. i am not english and i developed my political ideas in italy taking part to the no global movements of the last years.
one thing that really scandalise me is the massive presence of the police at the demostrations and also how arrogant and repressive they are with people. i cannot believe that the movements in itself is not able to protect itself from the attack indiscriminate of the police. i think the movement should work very much about the repression organising sit-in, forum, demostration, to try to communicate with the public opinion. i mean what is happening in england is unbeliveable, not in chile during pinochet time the level of repression was so high! i see during the demostrations people arrested and nobody does anything to stop the situation. people is part of the movement, people arrested is something that we cannot tollerate! what this country is doing is to reduce any demostration to something regarding public order. that's why there are cops everywhere. i cannot stand marching with a cop next to me...sorry, i cannot tolerate it!
i hope mayday is gonna be a great day for everyone, but once again, why doesn;t the movement organise something more militant marching all together from one point to another? i thing giving different appointment at the differene time is only something to waste energies. we need to be united against the repression of the system!
well. i hope someone is going to open a discussion with me. i hope you will be able to understand my really poor english!!
ciao

16.04.2003 14:17
On Thursday 1st, a Mayday parade is starting at 12pm outside Buchanan Street Underground. Dress up and join us!
Also, a student and youth strike is arriving in George Square at 1.30pm.
After that, it's up to all of us what to do next!
Reclaim the future!
