I simply wonder why the death of the British activist in Gaza(Tom Hurndall) wasn't a big issue in the UK indymedia...
The news of his death ought to be on the first page!He tried to protect children and got shot in the head !! Why aren't you angry enough??The Israeli government loves all the western's world apathy over Palestine and the sheer focus on Iraq!Don't give them the chance to kill so easily!!!

It appears that racism is now a term basically reserved exclusively for jews, Arabs are now officially classified as some kind some sub human canon fodder... any critism of the Israelis and the world wide jewish communities that support israel brings the house down .. interesting to note that even with the mainstream media pretty much under control and very unlikely to tell the truth about what is going on in Palestine there is a well orchestrated full bore pro Israeli propaganda campaign right here on IMC UK. they certainly don't lack resources .. as far as i can see the situation is
pretty much hopeless the Palestinians plight is not going to improve in the nr fututre ...

But are 'the people of the UK' very angry? Hell No!
Some national papers carried this story and thats it.
As 'scram' has mentioned Arabs are considered 'cannon fodder'.
Also there is the news of war right now.
A Briton dying anwhere for any cause is (unfairly) big news at normal times.
But the racist nature of British soceity *even in normal times* I fear, would not sympathise with the high ideals Tom died for.
But then again sadly this is one death that could be used to stop countless oters happenign in the future.
> What can we do about this?
The fact that Tom is a Briton I feel someone should follow this up legally with good advice.
The law is so fucked up here that any legal action might have to follow advice that will most probably neglect the real cause Tom died for -- valuing all human life as equal.
The legal argument will definitely be on the lines of unlawful killing in a distant land ....blah..but will give focus to what Tom was there in the first place in the media.
For a long lasting solution we should really follow up the racist issue that is the real cause of all this.
Why not follow up what stopped on 9/11 ...the
'Declaration [unedited] (.pdf document)' dated 8 Sept 2001

I believe the UK government along with a major contribution fo the US government was responsible for watrign down the para 61 . The original intent was something more noble and sent panick among the aggressors who are pushing our planet into a dangerous future.
Yes! let us not give anyone the chance to kill so easily.

No, actually I'm furiously despondant if that's at all possible. Don't blame us for being this way - we live under an illegal dictatorship. Please come and free us from this tyranny.
