The Surrey Stop the War Coalition went ahead with their march today arranged prior to the national demonstration. Although only 70+ in number (most people went to the London march) it was certainly worthwhile and provided the opportunity for links to be forged between the varying groups represented.

Stirring speeches were made by John MacDonnell MP as well as speakers from UNISON, the local Labour Party, Green Party, the local CofE church, and the SurreySTWC - All in all, a real Surrey village fete atmosphere with a serious message - this war is illegal, immoral, the leaders of imperialism are liars dripping with the blood of the innocent and we wont let them get away with it!
