Approximately 100–150 mostly women gathered outside the dail this evening with their pots and pans to show solidarity with the poor and hungry men, women and children of Iraq. The idea of banging pots and pans was originally derived by the Spanish but this small crowd of Irish women showed that they could do just a well as the Spanish. Demonstrators chanted slogans and sang peace songs and the small crowd shouted shame shame shame in the direction of government buildings. The demonstration passed off without and disturbances or arrests.
