The war in Iraq is over!

stone | 09.04.2003 14:30

Saddam Hussein's rule collapsed in chaos in Baghdad today as elated Iraqis welcomed US forces while looters and gunmen ran wild. As marines rolled in from the east to a joyous reception, hundreds of people gutted official buildings, dragging off all they could carry.

So that is it! Saddam's rule in Iraq has now collapsed and all that is left is for the allies to form a provisional government until a new Iraqi government can be established. This must have been one of the shortest wars in history!

You should probably learn your history a little better.

Just for a start I would mention the 1967 6 day war between Israel and Egypt. There are probably others that have been shorter.

There are still significant "pockets of resistance".

A few hundred cheering Sh'ias does not constitute the end of the regime...

Anyway, once the invasion finishes, the occupation starts...

Saddam main failure was he could not adapt to changes ...admant man... and his offspring were too stupid....

Saddam was only CIA friendly and forgot to modernise with the times.

Try telling the thousands of Iraqis who have been injured in the bombings, the families of the dead, and those who now have to live in this broken country with even less infrastructure than before, that the war is over. This never was a war; it was an attack. The devastating effects are going to last a lot longer than even most people in the anti war movement are going to be bothered to pay attention to them. We must not give up now; we must continue to fight for the truth and counter the disgusting propaganda being peddaled by our "free" media.
