What is the position of IMC , IMC UK ,

This is serius news for the front page of their editorial/post.

Other wise ... we may thing ..that IMC is allowed only in the case that is not a threat to the Imperialist powers.

When 'democarcy' Doesn't Go Your Way

07.04.2003 10:13

When consistently and over a period of months Indymedia Athens confronts all the lies of the imperialist media, the lies of the agents who have set up and framed up citizens in what is dubbbed the trial of the century (read Anti-Patriot Act in Greece-trial of 17N) it is inevtible that WE HAVE TO CLOSE DOWN Indymedia Athens.

US 'Democracy' you see is about losing elections, losing the invasion of Iraq, losing it generally.

Hence we had to take special measures and close down all Indymedia outlets that dont support OUR LINE.

Welcome to the new world order. One world. One Lie. One View.

Why does it always have to be agents?

07.04.2003 11:29

Why is it everytime there is a problem with a site, people start talking about secret agents or hackers?
Do you not realise that the war and lack of decent coverage on TV has driven huge numbers of people to independent services, many of which were not prepared for the jump in usage thus leading to outages in service.

Also remember that access to a site can be blocked at many places, your local network, isp or even national level. So just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there.

Jim

Dear Jim

07.04.2003 11:53

this is NOT an ISP problem

we know taht. The Athens IMC, so far they have claim different and contradictive reasons why the site is down.

Since yesterday, they are silent. Some of them work for large Greek newspapers !!!.

So .. things are not so simple.. something happens and they do not announce it. They are hidding.

there is a roumer that they follow orders from Tegopoulos, a news paper owner...

Greek Jim

Hello from the diaspora

What's this? The folks who run the Athens IMC also work for the Mass Media? Details please...

Jim for PM (briish that is)

07.04.2003 13:48

I whole heatedly support the view of Jim as above. There are people roaming the web in search of local news and actions.

Especially so in the UK where there is a forceful 'behind our troops', 'we cannot now withdraw can we' type of bollocks.
Many are left out in the dark. I have lost many friends ...they were never friends anyway, I guess, over this.

So let us question IMC-UK and say 'fuck off you sorted lot' to the Greeks over here. Unless they are homeless...then say so first on an editorial of some sort.

Should UK put it's hands into Greece? No.
My main worry is IMC-UK not being bold enough in talking about / tackling the true situation. There is no protests (OK, realistic ones) in the UK! That is United Kingdom.

It is sad that there are political boundaries we all have to work within bt they exist and the need is very urgent right now.

Let me put this another way.
Lets consider a hypothetical situation whereby secretary Wolfowitz kicks Saddam's arse more quickly than any human could ever imagine and Iraq is the showcase for the whole world (with another ranch for Bush nr. Babaylon and all).
Do we have to start reading up Syrian , Iranian , Korean and other geo political histories rewritten by the BBC all over again. And pointed to these shit through IMC-United Kollectives?

Constructive criticsms only please. Justified abuse allowed.
