Oxford e-activists have cybersquatted their local pro-war mp, in protest at his support of the illegal war in Iraq. Former CND member, and MP for Oxford East Andrew Smith owns the website www.andrewsmithmp.org.uk, the activists have put together a heavily critical spoof site at www.andrewsmithmp.org. One activist said, "We wanted to highlight the hypocrisy of supporting the carpet bombing of Iraqui people in the name of democracy, whilst simultaneously ignoring the democratic wishes of your own constituents! Although the site is satirical, it makes a very serious point about the lack of real democracy in our community." The site also critiscizes the government's New Deal and Welfare to Work schemes, both introduced by Smith, which it equates with "Slave Labour".
