heather | 03.04.2003 21:42

Please help. We have 26 Coffins to carry up Oxford Rd, Manchester and not enough people to carry them and march in the procession for the 'funeral'.

Sat April 5 Funeral 2 pm at All Saints park

We will have 26 coffins covered by black drapes to carry People are invited to march behind them in silence, wearing black with a white ribbon around one arm. No placards or flags! We would like to create a visual impact. The aim is to show that people are dying every single hour, every single day - and we want to stop it . There will be only a big rainbow banner at the end of the procession facing the people outside . Only drums will playing a regular slow beat. People are invited to carry photos and names of the dead, wreaths, flowers.
Please help to spread the information! Be there at 1.15 to give us a hand

Sun April 6 2pm Albert Square Flower for Peace day, Anti-their-war propaganda.

Bring pots of red flowers to write no war in the middle of the square, decorate the square with colourful peaceful chalky and silly spray messages, make your own antiwar confetti, throw them around, come with your banner, public reading of articols, poems, songs, music, tie white ribbons around the square, make your own peace flag (the rainbow one)

thank you for your help
