Brian Haw, who has maintained a 668 day 'siege' of the Houses of Parliament is now on hunger strike in response to Tony Blair's decision to join the American attack on Iraq, and to express his sympathy with the conditions of those in Iraq struggling to find food as a result of the invasion. Like Blair and Bush he says his action will last "as long as it takes". Today is day 20.

Parliament Square continuous protest

01.04.2003 14:43

I was up at Parliament Square on Sunday and saw the peace camp that has been created there. I saw Brian on his hunger strike and spoke to several people who have been camping out since the break of war.

I think everyone should realise that people are continually protesting outside the Houses of Parliament. People staying there said that there are about 20 people sleeping there and protesting every day.

If people could go there every so often to give their support, by making some noise, or speaking their thoughts on the megaphones, there will be a constant reminder to the politicians and people driving by that the Peace Movement is still strong and on-going, and not slowing down.

In my view, it is just as important to do these small things, to keep chipping away at people's consciousness so that hopefully change will come about soon...

People? with conciousness?!

Small chippings of an immense brainwashing that is soaked in hundreds of years blood thirsty british existence is not good enough. It will never work.

If you have any conscience and you understand the dynamics of british politics then you will stop being cowards first and speak out in such a way that the truth is expressed.

The reality is that poeple we live amongst are out in force killing and pillagin RIGHT NOW.
This has to be highlighted justly.
If there are no soldiers no politician will go out to battle. It is the soldier who wages the battle and kills.

Why is that there is such hero worship of the common soldier in the UK who is only the lowest of the low for participating in the killings?

Why is that the armed organised armed thugs are never criticised?
Are you scared? If so please say so loud and clear so he rest of the world can understand.

People call President Bush pig this and that but never a British soldier! who is infact the pig's arse!! doing the dirtiest of jobs. The pig Bush atleast was born detached from reality.

This is the only way to touch the conscience of the people.
ie, with graphic images of their killings and put the blame where it belongs.

Here is one emerging source for graphics.
