We have never forgotten when our own son Euan hurt his little finger. We stayed up all night to make sure he was alright and we took leave from work to see that he recovered well. There was a major panic in our household and we thought we would not survive it.

Yes, our children, as you can see how we use them when it is useful to make a point to the public, are the most important thing in our life. The reason, you may not see, is that they are our children.

When Euan soaked himself stupid with alcohol and threw up outside a porn film enterprise, lying face down, and then gotarrested by the police, we came to his aid immediately and we made sure that all would be well for him. We felt utterly foolish but we accept all parents would feel the same as us.

The picture here reminds us how important our own son is to us. Because he is our own.

And we want to redress Tony's awfully stupid comment about the "execution" of our soldiers, by expressing our heartfelt sorrow for this boy's family.

We would wish all children would survive our bombing, the "collateral damages" and all parents would see their children live to see the day when their parents have to come police stations to liberate them when they did something silly like getting drunk, join protestt marches, etc.

But for the moment please accept our bombing with gratitude because it is for your own good - for your freedom, liberation, in fact, for the freedom of the world. There is nothing personal in our volunteering your children for sacrifice. Think of it this way, your children get severely injured, die, suffer in countless horrible way in order that others may be free.

Any parent would be proud of that.
