March and die-in in York city-centre

Around three hundred people gathered in York's Museum Gardens to take direct action against the war today. This was an impressive turn-out considering the groups only had three days in which to build the event.
There was a silent march through the bustling town centre, which seemed to draw more reflective attention to the protest. The march wound its way to the market, where around one hundred people staged a fifteen minute die-in. This caused a good-deal of disruption while also being highly symbloic in light of recent events. People bought flowers from the market and laid them on the 'dead', while others drew chalk outlines around them. This left a message that would last for some time.
After the die-in around half the demonstation marched through the city-centre noisily chanting. This keeps the anti-war opposition vocal - vital at this time.
