Approximately 700 to 800 protestors marched through central Oxford today in protest against the war in Iraq.

Approximately 700 to 800 protestors marched through central Oxford today in protest against the war in Iraq. The day
passed off peacefully, but was again marked by an extremely heavy police presence, including large numbers of police horses. Even the small rally at the end of the march (most people left once the march had ended, not particularly interested in the speeches) was cordoned off on both sides
by lines of police. There were also 4 vanloads of police
and several police horses deployed at the PLain Roundabout, in order to deal with 3 men with guitars singing peace songs.

Who pays their wages? The same authorities that claim to be unable to pay for upgrades to the John Radcliffe hospital without a PFI scheme....the same old story...
