Protester made to take off anti war bage before getting on bus.

A passenger was told that he had to take off an anti-war badge before he could board a bus.

This seems like the kind of thing that must be watched out for and challenged.

Policeman opposes war!?

This part stood out to me: "Mr Bearder, who works for Thames Valley Police, was heading away from the anti-war protest to be held in Oxford on Friday night.", he's was a police officer, surely this is the first documented occurance of a police officer OPPOSING war?!

My brother is a policeman and he has been to several anti war rallies in *******. Not as an undercover cop, but as a real protestor, don't tell his superiors. In fact he organises protests and is part of the anti war coalition, again don't tell his bosses. He also knows how to identify other policemen patrolling the protests. How to get their numbers etc. It's good to have inside info, his skills are valued.

....aren't th police allowed to have opininions on these things? surely if they're not in uniform they can go to protests , no? i reckon alot of police are against the war.the polce woman at our demo last thurs in milton keynes said taht she was pretty much against it and she was in uniform and everything. the police aren't really the enemy are they{ alhtough i do agree they do act like real cocks alot of the time)
