One Global Economy to Rule Them All

BushisTHE ENEMY | 25.03.2003 16:49

The U.S. war in Iraq is about oil, currency, "regime change"(i.e. swapping dictators) and most of all-enforcement of U.S. dominated economic globalization.

For many years now, the U.S. has been fervently foisting capitalist globalization on the world-under U.S. dollar hegemony. The U.S. sponsors/controls such global economic institutions as the World Trade Organization, the Bretton Woods Institutions(International Monetary Fund-IMF and the World Bank) and numerous "free trade" agreements which these institutions-or the threat or use of brute military force as in Iraq right now- coerce nations around the world to sign in order to satisfy the astronomical economic appetites of(primarily) America's Wall Street.

Of course, multi-nationals of other nations from Japan to Canada and, of course, Britain, also benefit, but by far the lion's share of the spoils go to the U.S. That is where U.S. dollar hegemony comes in. Washington makes it a point to manipulate global currency markets to make sure the U.S. dollar remains THE MAIN international bench mark currency. One of Iraq's "crimes" was its defiance of the U.S. global economic cartel by switching to the Euro to sell its oil. This, in fact, may well be the MAIN reason for the Bush junta's unilateral-and illegal-attack on Iraq. Iraq's switch to the Euro for petroleum sales may have been a major factor in the Euro's strength against the dollar before the current war. As of now, one Euro is equal to about$1.07. What it will be after America's conquest of Iraq is anyone's guess, but it is likely to go lower in value. This doesn't mean we should go rush to support the E.U. and the Euro-just to show once again, that it is Washington that is the primary force in ramming capitalist globalization down the world's throat to establish its New World Order-The "New American Century" of U.S. global economic and military empire-total domination of planet Earth.

So how do we, the people of the world, destroy this imperial American "Ring of Power"? Answer-revive, and continue to expand the anti-globalization movement! The anti war and anti-globalization movements must become one and the same! By recognizing the link between U.S. sponsored corporate globalization and the current U.S. unilateral wars against Afghanistan, now Iraq and soon against Iran, North Korea and on and on, we can organize world wide against the Bush family imperial gang and its multinational corporate sponsors and bring down this fascist/capitalist global tyranny.

Organize to shut down the G 8 conference in Evian! Shut down the WTO, IMF/World Bank!

Organize global boycotts of all multi-national corporations-especially U.S.!

Spend money only on locally produced/owned products and services!

Organize to establish independent 100%worker owned and democratically operated non-profit "businesses" and "industries"-to produce products/services.

To stop the runnaway U.S. war machine and fascist regime we've got to shut down its economic basis-capitalist globalization!
