Plea to Europe - Make the Next London Anti-war demo International

the upsetter | 23.03.2003 19:34

Call for people to treat London demos like G8 or WTO conferences - there is no point protesting in countries that are already anti-war.

Why no invite thousands ofItalian disobediencia to come over and swell our numbers? People are happy to conference hop so why not come and help us force our government to obey international law and stop committing genocide. If you think this is a good idea and have the contacts spread the word.

local resistence to global politics

of course it makes sense to protest locally rather then travelling around.
not everybody has the financial means, or the time or the circumstances to travel.
and when people in Belgium block trains or resist in Germany to the use of airports to be used by US in the war, or go to southern Turkey to be legal and human right observing, that's a valuable contribution, too.
If people in this country can't resist the war themselves, than there is no sense in trying to lure other activists here.
although it is always nice to link up with folks when they come here.
