fairford protester on hunger strike

A fairford protester who was arrested today is making his own principled stand against the blatant abuse of police powers used against demonstrators at the base.
The protester, currently being held at Stroud police station has completely refused to co-operate with what he feels to be a farcical charge, an abuse of his civil liberties and the misuse of section 60 powers.
He has refused to reveal his identity, and is also refusing food.
Arrested for refusal to remove a mask, he has decided to make a stand because of the complete disregard for civil liberties the police displayed at Fairford today. Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act was used to justify numerous and arbitrary stop and search incidents. 'Offensive' materials such as placards were confiscated or destroyed and individuals were harrassed and intimidated. The authorities were obviously determined to stop legitimate protest by whatever means necessary, legal or not.
It looks likely that the protester will be held at Stroud until he can go before a magistrates court, which will probably not be until Monday.

as soon as we arrived at fairford we gained a personal circle of met police. we then faced a barrage of camera's and police photographers, only to be thanked by a confusion of section 60/44 resulting in our group recieving the whole works of body searches and probing questions...
....our thanks goes out to the crowd who amassed there today and offered much verbal and often physical support...the police can not simply get away with, what is quite obviously, a major imfringement on our rights.
the arrests made absolutly no sense at all, and to the person taking a stand against this insanity, all power to them!!!!!!!
snooch
met cops oppressive

one ofus who eventually removed his face covering on way out of demo they created a snatch squad but despite efforts of white suits and up for it protesters two got nicked. On way back to fairford town we were escorted all 7 of us, by 4 vans and close personal attention. At fairford we were again stopped from going as a group to our van so we decided to rest on grass verge for a while until they decided we were'nt going about to steal U$AF killers children and torture them. One of arrestees was released on police bail, the other refused to give name or take food, water he is expected to appear at a special court today but even cops did not know at which one.
Thanks to all at fairford who constantly walked in front of met video crews and crowd who helped to try and free arrestees
THE MET DID NOT JUST PISS ME OFF BUT EVERYONE THERE YESTERDAY BY BEING B£IARS BULLY BOYS YET AGAIN!!!
