Nottingham army recruitment centre is seeing red, literally as it is hit with several paint balls. The entire 'shop window' front is covered with red paint. Police 'protect' the building for the rest of the night!

Nottingham army recruitment centre is seeing red, literally as it is hit with several paint balls. The entire 'shop window' front is covered with red paint. This action took place early afternoon on 20th March, as news of war 'starting' on Iraq hits the streets.

At 5pm 1000 people met up outside the town hall in Market Square to voice their protest at the war. A spontaneous section broke off to blockade the busy Mansfield Road and to head towards the 'new look' army recruitment centre. Police gathered in front of the centre to protect it for the rest of the night.

Previous actions in Nottingham against the war have targetterd the army barracks in Chillwell, and army recruitment centre on Mansfield road. Small individual actions as well as 'mass' have been effective. So if you're in the area pay them a visit. The recruitment centre have an 'open-door' for the public, so take up their time, tell them what you think of them, waste their time, pretend you want to sign up. Notice how they have such large vulnerable windows!?! There are CCTV cameras on them though, for you information. Visit accordingly.

Further mass direct action to take place on Sat 22 March at Menwith Hill US spy communication base, near Harrogate, Yorkshire and Fairford Gloucesteshire. info: www.now-peace.org.uk

All bases can also be accessed with just you and your mate one quiet night...
