Charing X police station - 8 people assaulted

8 demonstrators were verbally and physically assaulted at Charing Cross Police station. They were waiting for an ambulance for one protestor who was badly beaten up by police.




London, report from 10.30pm. During the evening, one protester tried to stop an arrest. As a consequence, he was beaten heavily by police officers. He was taken to Charing X police station, together with the arrested demonstrator, where an ambulance was called for him. 8 other people were waiting with him for the ambulance inside the police station. They were reading and eating sandwiches. The police asked some of them to leave, claiming they were intimidating people. They started to physically eject them from the police station. A guy from Egypt, wearing a palestinian scarf, was hit and
thrown down the steps at the entrance of Charing X police station. Police officers proceded violently to throw out the 8 people, stamping on somebody’s glasses in the process. One person who was filming was threatened to have her camera confiscated, which is illegal, then she was physically thrown out. The whole group is very shaken, especially the guy waiting for ambulance. At 11pm, he is still at charing x police station.
