Hundreds of anti-war protesters brought Worthing to a halt with a reclaim the streets style action tonight.
Hundreds of anti-war protesters shut down Worthing town centre in West Sussex for two hours tonight.
A series of roundabouts were occupied in sit-down protests and there was a mass occupation of McDonald's.
The noisy protest, featuring drumming, whistles and chanting, involved many of the school kids who have been staging walk-outs in the town over the last few days.
Policing seemed stretched, with the massive protests in Brighton drawing away resources.
Said a spokesman: "This is just the start of our campaign of disobedience. A number of direct action protests are already being planned and we are determined to keep up the pressure until this murderous war is halted."
