The protest was peaceful yet determined and powerful. There were warnings from the police followed by two arrests and then as the traffic backed up gate 7 was opened and all traffic in and out of the base had to be rerouted. There were too few grannies to blockade the second gate so after a picnic lunch, when it became clear the police were just going to play a waiting game and no more arrests were likely the group quietly dispersed to plan their next action.

Later a second smaller blockade occurred at gate 7 when it was thought bombs were about to be moved from the munitions store to the B-52s waiting inside the base.

Please make every effort to get to Fairford on 22nd for the biggest ever demo in Gloucestershire.

Protest at Fairford is much more fun - forget london that's been done!
