1. 'Strasbourg noborder camp 2002' :
Video diary of a Samba drummer
2000 activists from Europe and beyond spent 10 days at the
French/German border. An experiment in self-organisation, communication-chaos, technology, creative and traditional forms of action. A laboratory of civil disobedience, a crash course in frustration management, an exploration of digital and physical borders. A gathering of grassroots activists without a summit.
2. 'Hacking the SIS' :
Communication guerillas on the virtual borders
The Schengen Information System in Strasbourg is a database containing information on migrants and activists. During the noborder camp 2002, scientists from the institute of biopolitical research virtually opened the Schengen Information System in an attempt to publicise the database.
3. 'Publix Theatre Caravan 2001'
Mobile action, fun, repression and media
During the summer of resistance 2001, the international theatre group travelled from Salzburg via Slovenia to Genoa, where they were arrested and accused of being the black-block ringleaders of the Genoa protests. The video explores the potential of creative resistance, the specifics of a travelling, border crossing, action, and the complications of dealing with mainstream media.
There will also be a discussion about G8 meeting at Evian this coming June.
