How many marched?

Fred L. Brown | 16.03.2003 00:47

Where are the numbers for the demonstrations?

I'm in Victoria, Canada and I tried to find out how many people marched against the war in Iraq.. Of course the corporate media were clamed up about the numbers of demonstrators in Europe but I was really surprised that the numbers weren't posted on the Indy Media sites in Europe.. such as your own.. so what were the real numbers and how come its taken so long to get them up on the site??..

BTW.. here in Victoria I estimate the crowd at 7,000.. (we are small town though..so that is a large crowd for here..)

In exeter, southwest UK (a small city) 3500 marched, the biggest anti war march in the city's history. the local news only counted 1000 though and spent several minutes of airtime interviewing one of 4 pro war campaigners. the local news round here has always been a bit shit...
