solar not oil

effective action for peace

how many peace campaigners own cars? how many drive to work, dro their kids at school? warm their homes with electricity produced in nuclear or oil-powered stations?
Small photo-voltaic panels on the roof of your house can provide all your energy needs. Most people can get loans for small home improvements from their local bank. Solar panels are easy to justify, and pay for themselves. They are clean, ethical and long lasting. A gift to future generations. The more people switch to solar the less oil our society will need. The less motive for war.
Too late to influence this war perhaps, but it is the path we must take.

Can this work here

Can solar panels really provide enough energy to run a home in this cloudy land? Any more information about this?

I am planning to move to one of the 'green' electricity providers.

They can certainly provide enough energy to heat your water (including central heating and swimming pool - thats the market they were aiming for due to cost last time I checked.
As for powering your entire house - I don't know, technology is moving along all the time.
