PICKET DAILY MAIL IDEAL HOMES EXHIBITION

Tony Greenstein | 10.03.2003 18:54

The Daily Mail's Ideal Homes Exhibition caters to the nice, young, professional middle class yuppie couple. Plenty of rooms, garden etc. But what is the ideal home for the refugees and asylum seekers that the Mail pillories? A cardboard box, bus shelter or prison bars?

For over a hundred years the Daily Mail has been vilifying asylum seekers. In the first half of the 20th Century it was Jewish refugees that the Mail warned its sensitive readers about. Today of course it is the refugees from the wars that the Mail and the rest of the gutter press supports.

That is why we are organising a picket of the Daily Mail's Ideal Homes Exhibition at Earl's Court, next Sunday 16th March from 12.00 onwards.

COME ALONG AND SHOW THAT THE MAIL'S RACISM WILL NO LONGER GO UNCHALLENGED

There is no room for asylum seekers!!

How on earth can a tiny country like ours take in 110,000 asylum seekers every year you idiot. And why should asylum seekers get houses, flats and welfare payments whenm thousands of our own people are living on the streets and having to beg to survive! There are around 150,000 homeless people in Britain who are either living rough, in squats, in hostels or in bed and breakfast accomadation. Hoiw about helping these people instead of spending billions every year on asylum seekers! Why should homeless British people have to wait years and years for a home while these refugees go straight to the front of the housing que!

There is a lot of anger amongst the homeless community against preferential treatment for refugees. Real anger!!!

Idiot Harlequin. Yes there are many homeless people, there are also 100,000s of empty houses which are owned by companies etc and not sold. Asylum seekers get shit treatment, the best they get is like £27 a week or something, and they live in rubbish homes (when they actually get lent a home by the government), with leaks etc. Theres no difference between asylum seekers and British people anyway, just because they came from a different place doesn't mean they deserve to be treated like dirt.
