About 50 people in total spread over 2 and a half hours
protested against GAPs use of Sweatshop labour on Saturday
8th March- International Womens day .The protest was held outside the central GAP on Princes street in Edinburgh. There were great speeches made by women from the FBU, Amnesty, Stop the War and Workers Left Unity- Iran organisations .The highlight was a group of around 20 school students joining in in an improvised song about sweatshop labour initiated by the socialist womens network.
The protest was organised by No Sweat and supported by People and Planet, the Stuc' Womens committee, Amnesty International, Oxfam, Edinburgh TUC and the Socialist Womens Network.
