Camcorder Guerilla Weekend Off to a Great Start

The Camcorder Guerilla Weekend in Glasgow has started off
well with over forty people coming to see the video on Friday night
and then going to a series of workshops at the GMAC
(The Glasgow Media Access Centre, the host of the event).
The groups divided into 3 groups, each learning with
a separate tutor how to use cameras, edit films, create
stories, turn direct action into live web-actions!
One of the groups did a short video on International
Women's Day, and then another group filmed a direct
action at an army recruitment center in Glasgow, as
people fly-pasted tons of AT EASE leaflets about
how army soldiers with ethical objections could take this forward - the posters formed a giant NO WAR sign.
Then they go into the thick of Royal Navy Celebration (of
their 100th year anniversary!). As the navy brass band
marched and played, the anti-war activists marched
and chanted 'We don't want no bloody war, free free
palestine, don't attack iraq!'. Afterwards, the video
activists editited and digitized them, and will upload
them tomorrow morning - so watch here!
